Why ScottWay?
“It’s pretty simple, as you probably have already guessed, Scott is a family name.
But to me it means more that. You see before I was a Scott, my father was one,
and before him, his grandfather. And of course (laughing) to you that doesn’t
mean much because everybody has parents and grandparents somewhere. To top it
all off (smiling) my family is nobody famous, trust me!”
“So why the big deal about the name then? Well let me continue, my parents and
grandparents, although they weren’t famous, they instilled into me good values.
They taught me about things like; using common sense when others don’t, having
compassion for people around me; and taking right action when decisions are
difficult. I’m sure there were others, but these are the ones that come to
mind. So the name of my company in a way embodies those values and more. The
name is just a reminder of how I want to do business.”
“At the heart of it, we are a family company with rich values who wants to do business
with our community in the same way that we treat each other. We hope to work
with people in a way that makes sense. We don’t want to make things
unnecessarily tedious or do things just because of routine. We want to help our
clients and hopefully we can simplify their problems and let logic prevail. We
ultimately want to work with people and treat them in a “way” that all people
deserve to be treated. And in today’s world this attitude seems like a scarce
commodity. So this is who we are and what we do. This unique vision is the
ScottWay! …and that’s how I got the name.”
